AI Chat is a PRO Feature

AI Chat is a bot and assistant that learns your knowledge base to answer your users' questions and engage in conversations related to it. It is a paid add-on.

The Help Dialog plugin now includes an AI Chat feature. The AI Chat can learn your Knowledge Base content and then answer questions your users have about the topics your Knowledge Base covers. If the AI Chat cannot answer a question, it will ask the user to contact you for further assistance.

The Help Dialog has admin pages for managing the AI Chat:

  1. Dashboard – Used for the initial setup of your AI Chat using OpenAI Assistant, Vector Store, and Content.

  2. Chat History – Shows each conversation between visitors and the AI Chat, with the latest conversations at the top. Old conversations can be deleted. Note that OpenAI might keep old conversations for a certain number of days.

  3. Settings – Fine-tune your AI Chat performance. Changing the AI model shouldn’t affect the setup of the Vector Store, Assistant, and Threads.

  4. Error Log – Displays any errors related to AI chat functionality.

The AI Chat is based on the OpenAI framework and uses the following components:

  • Storage: Stores your Knowledge Base articles on OpenAI servers. Note that the files could be stored outside of your country.
 
  • Vector Store: References Knowledge Base articles that are stored in Storage.
 
  • Assistant: The AI bot that uses the Vector Store as its Knowledge Base to answer questions.
 
  • Thread: A specific conversation between a user and the AI Chat.

 

The Help Dialog uploads all public articles as files into Storage. It theninitializes the Vector Store with the uploaded files. Finally, it creates an Assistant and adds the Vector Store to it.

Beta Versions

Both the OpenAI Assistant feature and Help Dialog AI Chat are beta products subject to change.

User Input Filtering

The Help Dialog does not filter text entered by your site visitors, such as profanity or offensive language. If accessible publicly, the Help Dialog AI Chat will give visitors access to any information stored in the AI Chat's Knowledge Base files.

The cost of providing AI Chat service to your users and customers has two components: the yearly fixed cost of purchasing or renewing the Help Dialog PRO plugin, and the cost charged by OpenAI for usage of its AI Assistant.

The ongoing cost of AI Chat itself will then depend on the following:

  • The purchase of an initial credit amount used toward AI usage ($50 or more)
  • The tier level of the AI account (based on the initial credit purchased)
  • The AI model used in the AI Chat settings
  • The number of articles and their overall size
  • The number of questions”
